Very well written. Watching so much sh.t happening makes you feel hopeless and that drives cynicism. But it's just another form of staying inactive. I also really loved you saying how people are so much cooler in real life. Sometimes after scrolling and growing angry and frustrated with people, I go to walk my dog in the nearby park, and just in those 30 minutes I chat with people, and it makes me believe in human connection again. Because that's the main point, and social media is trying so hard to make us forget that.
First of all thank you SO much!! 🩷 Second of all, I love that you’ve noticed the same pattern of casual social media use making everyone lose faith in humanity, but spending time with actual people in the real world restoring it almost instantly. I genuinely believe that our collective unwillingness to create meaningful change is directly tied to the fact that so many people are chronically online and therefore have lost faith in the goodness of humanity.

Re: numba 3 about studying matriarchy — I’m working on an illustrated book depicting what a matriarchal world looks like, based on women’s and femmes’ imaginations and theories of what it would be. I would love to talk with you sometime ✌🏻
