There is a meme of Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey that says “Profanity is so low class” and then “Me: Apologies, my good bitch, but what seems to be the fuck?” And this post made me think of that. I think we can be cool people and still curse. I’ve never understood why there is not a single platform where you can say something even remotely negative or imply that you straight up did not have a good time or talk about what sucks without getting bashed to pieces for it as if it wasn’t a normal part of the human experience that everyone goes through, probably even on a daily basis to some extent. I came up with a great clap back to a negative comment the other day and it really was exhilarating. Anyway, re: staying the same, isn’t the saying “The more things change, the more they stay the same?” Food for thought in 2025!
